Striking is the basis of martial arts. Most humans can instinctively ball up their fist and hit someone with it. Learning the correct way to use a punch, kick, knee strike or elbow strike will set you apart from the rest, however. With training and guidance, you will be able to strike much harder, much faster, and use much less energy while you do it. By practicing striking skills, you will also learn defensive maneuvers that will keep you safe if you're ever attacked.
The striking skills I teach are heavily based around Muay Thai/Muay Boran (ancient Muay Thai). Although I believe Muay Thai to be the strongest striking discipline, it isn't perfect so I've supplemented with pieces from other styles. Training striking from me would look something like this:
The skills learned from me will prepare you for competition or self-defense. You will learn how to control range, control the fight rhythm, land your shots when you want, and keep yourself safe to prevent your opponent's success. Striking skills are helpful to practice with a partner but can be practiced alone as well.
