It's often said that a side effect of physical training is discipline, stress relief, and so on. This is true. There is something to be said, however, for discussing the concepts of mindset (both in/out of competition) and mental health directly. Participating in a challenging form of exercise is just a piece of the puzzle...we need to intentionally train our minds as well.
